Past
District Governor Peter Neidrauer joined the Churchville
Lions Club in 1984. In his 20 years as a Lion, Peter
has had 19 years of perfect attendance, and has served
12 terms as a board member, holding most of the board
positions in the club. He was 100% Secretary in 1991-92,
and he served as President of the Churchville Lions
both in 1992-93 and in 1997-98, when he earned the 100%
President’s
Award. He has also chaired the club’s Birthday
Calendar project five times, and served as co-chair
of the Churchville Lions Country Fair for six years.
He
also served as chairperson for the installation of
four playgrounds in the Churchville-Chili school district.
Lion
Peter was recognized by the Churchville Lions Club with
the Lion of the Year Award in 1990 and the Career Lion
Award in 1996.
His
activities with District 20E1, MD-20 and Lions International
include attending six International Conventions, eight
State Conventions, five USA/Canada Forums, and nine Sub-District
Conventions. Lion Peter served as Chairperson for the
MD-20 International Convention Committee in 2002, was
Zone Chair from 1998-2001, Region Chair from 2001-2003,
and Vice-district Governor of District 20E1 in 2003-4.
Lion
Peter graduated from the Senior Leadership Institute
in 2002, and served as a Trustee of the New York State
and Bermuda Foundation from 2002-2005. He is a Robert
J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award recipient and
RJU Progressive Award recipient. He has also been recognized
with the PDG Leadership award (2000) and the ILC Leadership
Certificate (2002).
Lion
Peter graduated from Warsaw Central School system in
1961, earning his Associate of Applied Science in Automotive
Technology from Hudson Valley Community College in 1963.
He was hired by Eastman Kodak in 1963 and worked there
until 1995, starting as an automatic equipment mechanic,
advancing to technician, engineer and finally to senior
engineer. In 1995 he joined a good friend in a custom
cabinet shop and spent 3 years doing any interesting
project that came along. He then was employed by the
Town of Riga in 1998 when he was appointed Highway Superintendent,
and was re-elected for two terms. He retired in December
of 2003.
Lion
Peter and his Partner In Service, Lion Nancy, were married
in 1964 and have three grown kids and three grandsons.
Lion Nancy and son Lion Steven are both also active Churchville
Lions.
Lion
Peter’s hobbies include travel, all types of camping,
fishing, woodworking and gardening.
